Gizem was born in Istanbul in 1991 and spent much of her youth playing volleyball at a professional level before being admitted to the Cinema and Television Department at Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts in 2009. That same year, she began her professional career in film and television production, building extensive experience across feature films, short films, music videos, documentaries, and more than one hundred TV commercials.

Over the years, her career has expanded beyond traditional film production into broadcast operations and live television. In the UK, she has worked across major broadcasters and media organisations including BBC, ITV, Channel 5 and GB News through Red Bee Media. She has also worked with Warner Bros. Discovery across Eurosport, TNT Sports and Free-to-Air Nordic channels as a Playout Director.

She continues to work actively with Warner Bros. Discovery, including Eurosport and TNT Sports, contributing to the delivery of live and scheduled broadcast content across international markets.

Alongside her broadcast career, Gizem continues to work within film and commercial production as a 1st Assistant Director, Videographer and Photographer, maintaining the creative side of her career alongside her work in live television and broadcast operations.

She also works at Outernet London as a Technical Operator, contributing to one of London’s most advanced immersive entertainment and digital media environments.

Sport has remained an equally important part of Gizem’s life. After playing volleyball competitively from a young age, she continues her volleyball career in London and currently plays as an Outside Hitter for London Lionhearts’ Division 1 team.

With a career that moves between film sets, broadcast control rooms, live television environments, large-scale digital venues and the volleyball court, Gizem continues to develop both sides of the journey that have shaped her since the beginning: a professional career in film and television, and a lasting commitment to volleyball.
